Christmas bonus!

Just in time for the Christmas parties, special date nights,
gift list for Santa & first kiss of 2012…

Holiday Makeup Trends & Tricks 2011

*Nude eyes are big this season!  For daytime, use a soft shimmery brown or gold shadow paired with a sheer-nude gloss, soft bronzer and dark mascara. To take this look into the evening, kick it up with a sexy black winged liner… and if you are adventurous, a pair of killer false lashes!

*Well-defined, full eyebrows are back in style so put your tweezers away and pull out your eyebrow powder.  When filling in your brows, keep the color soft and your hand light and quick. Use a soft toothbrush to groom brows up and clear mascara to hold them in place.  Check out Laura Mercier’s Soft Blonde Eyebrow Powder if your hair ranges from light blonde to dark brown.

*Shades of Autumn is the trend for eyeshadow this season.  Stick to a warm palette of metallics: champagne, gold, rust, bronze and eggplant.  Get creative within these colors and feel free to mix two colors from the same family with the lighter shade on your lid and the darker shade in the outside corner and crease.

*Smokey eyes are still the trending look for Brides and for special occasions this season {don’t see an end in sight} so it’s best you learn how to create this look… which is actually fun & easy with a little practice.  Start with a shimmery brown on your lid, use a matte dark brown in your crease, throw a little charcoal on the outer corners of your eyes and highlight under your brow and in the corner or your eyes with a soft shimmery taupe.  BLEND BLEND BLEND and finish with smudged black liner and LOTS of mascara. Easy peasy.

*Another trending option for a special occasion is a soft eye paired with a bold, colorful lip, think a rich blue-based red or a bright pink lip.  If a bold color is too daring for you, opt for a rosey-neutral color that adds pigment to your pout. Don’t forget to begin this look with a great lip balm, chapped lips don’t hold this look very well, I love MAC’s Lip Conditioner.  Finish with sculpted cheeks and soft-shimmering shadow.

*Glowing bronzed or blushed cheeks continue to be the trend for this Holiday Season.  Perfect finish to any look, stick with a soft shade and apply sparingly for a natural flush.  Check out NARS Orgasm Blush or Bobbi Bronze Bronzing Brick. *One of the must-haves for this Holiday season is the BeautyBlender, a bright pink egg-shaped sponge that top makeup artists swear by.  Using this tool to apply foundation and concealer leaves an airbrushed finish.

*Remember that makeup is an art and there are no rules, just trends and tips… so the most important tip is to HAVE FUN with your look!

Wishing you a Christmas filled with love & laughter
and a very happy New Year!
