Since Julie’s look needed to hold up under a hot sun and last all day & night, we decided on Airbrush Makeup and I focused on playing up her ridiculously beautiful blue eyes with soft, smokey metallic browns and long, sexy lashes.  I kept the rest of her look soft and effortlessly flawless and finished with a glossy nude lip.

It was absolutely mind-blowing.  The ancient ruins of the Colosseum, the magnificence of the Sistine Chapel, the charm of Sorrento.  From the Gothic quarter of Barcelona to the entombed world of Pompei to the sheer splendor of the Isle of Capri…
We fell in love with Europe while celebrating three years of this sweet blessing of our covenant love.

For any of you still trying to nail down a honeymoon, I would absolutely recommend exploring the Mediterranean!  The diversity of Europe is incredible; ranging from Rome’s amazing architecture of ancient ruins that still pulses with power to the peacefulness of Tuscany and their sweet grappa & earthy olive oil to the romance of beautiful Florence and Pisa.  Throw in Barcelona’s Gothic magnificence and Cannes luxurious beaches and you have a pretty sweet backdrop to a few champagne cheers.

I hit the ground running after non-stop 25 hours of travel from Barcelona back to San Diego and can honestly say I know I am doing what I love when I actually wake up {jet lagged and all}  excited to dive back into the world of blush, lipstick, mascara and brides.  Ciao!

This Sacred Day was close to my heart.  Ok, confession, every wedding I am blessed to be a part of is close to my heart; it’s an honor to be such an intimate piece of a Bride’s Wedding Day.  This day was just a touch more intimate because the lovely Bride is my cousin.

Andrea and Dave are amazing free spirits.  Case in point: their rehearsal dinner was at a hole-in-the-wall local & organic vegan eatery hand-picked by the groom.  They are both teachers with a passion for South America and truly are two of the most beautiful, imaginative people I know.  They brought their unique, bohemian-americana lifestyle into every detail of their Wedding Day and it was truly a perfect reflection of them as a couple.

Because Andrea & Dave tied the knot outdoors in Balboa, San Diego early in the morning, we decided on Airbrush Makeup to ensure her makeup stayed fresh in the hot sun and lasted through the brunch and off into the night.  Andrea is a fresh-faced beauty and we wanted to keep her makeup simple while still creating that, “me on the best day of my life” look.  So, I focused on framing her gorgeous eyes with soft peach and champagne hues and gave her a set of long, sexy lashes for the “wow” factor.  I kept the rest of her makeup simple and pretty, evening out her skin tone and giving her a fabulous peachy glow.
I finished her look with a soft, glossy pout.

Vanessa & Scott are awesome. Seriously awesome. The kind of couple I would want my hubby & me to double-date with. Vanessa is a yoga instructor and THE MOST mellow Bride I’ve EVER worked with.  For example {true conversation}~

me: “So V, it’s a couple of days away from your Wedding, have you picked a spot to tie the knot?”
Vanessa: “No… we are just planning to walk around the cliffs ’til we find a good spot.”

I love it. I love her. I loved EVERYTHING about their
intimate elopement.

19 years and counting since they first met, V & Scott decided to run away from the concrete jungle of New York to the Southern California coast and exchange “I do’s” with the sand between their toes, surrounded by a close handful of friends and family.

I was honored to doll-up Vanessa with one of my amazing resident pro Hair Artists, Bekah.  For V’s bohemian look we decided on Airbrush Makeup to ensure a natural look that would last all day and night; Vanessa has gorgeous brows framing beautiful gray-blue eyes, she really wanted to focus on making her brows & eyes pop so I created a sultry, sand-colored eye palette and gently filed in her amazing brows, then kicked it up with long, sexy lashes and a neutral glossy pout!  To complete her beachy look, Bekah created deconstructed tousled waves to frame her gorgeous face!

Terrani & Garrett chose the amazing Lake Oak Meadows to tie the knot, it was the perfect backdrop for their
whimsical-meets-vintage-rustic ”I do’s”.

For her Wedding Day look, Terrani wanted flawless, bronzed, glowing skin with blushing cheeks and sexy, smokey eyes.  We decided on Airbrush Makeup to ensure flawless coverage that would look fresh and last all day & night.  

I sculpted her skin with a gorgeous bronze and soft, flirty blush and polished her skin with a gorgeous glow.  For her smokey eyes, I played with soft golds and rich coppers and framed her eyes with smudged liner and long, sexy lashes.

One of my amazing resident pro Hair Artists, Bekah, created Terrani’s vision of lovely locks that were deconstructed and sexy but would stay in place all day & night.

Bekah {Hair Artist}: She has such a sweet spirit and creative eye that I automatically felt at ease on my wedding day. I would describe her style as vintage hollywood glam with a modern twist. I  told her that I wanted long wavy curls and I brought my own extensions. She worked her magic and gave me a sexy wavy ‘do’ that had me looking twice in the mirror. I’d recommend Bekah any day of the week. She definitely a person you want on your team the day of your wedding.

Brittany {Makeup Artist}: I caught up with Brittany several years after graduating highschool and she was just as I remembered, beautiful and sweet! When I found out about her business I thought “I have to book her!” (This was before I was even engaged-LOL) Upon getting engaged I booked her immediately. I was taken back at my grand preview because she made me look and feel like a rejuvenated person! I was in love with my look I think I slept in it till the next day. On my wedding day, there was a little family drama (of all days-lol) and Brittany knew just the right things to say to redirect me and keep things lighthearted. After she spoiled me with V.I.P. treatment I looked in the mirror and was in shock. She evened out my skin and made it glow. My eyebrows were beautiful and shapely. My eyes were big and smokey and my lips were ready for the big kiss. Brittany knows what she is doing and she genuinely cares about her clients. I always refer my friends and their friends because it’s reassuring to know all I have to do is show up naked faced and you’ll take it from there! 

The wedding turned out lovely and I received many compliments on my hair and makeup! Can’t wait for another excuse to get dolled up again by this dashing duo.

 Lauren began her Private Lessons with me fresh after winning Miss San Diego Teen and without much makeup technique or tools.  She came to the right place!  Through a series of Competition Private Lessons, I coached her through skincare & makeup basics and built on the basics until she was fully capable and confident on her own.  Her final Private Lesson, just days before the big competition, I custom-created two gorgeous looks for her; interview & stage/evening gown and had her successfully recreate both looks in my studio all by herself while I watched and offered tips & tricks.

Of course I threw my Miss Cali sash on her for good luck.. looks pretty good on her, I’m not going to lie!

Lauren was confident, fierce & gorgeous at Miss California Teen USA and placed in Top 10!

I love it when I get to doll up a Bride before her Big Day… typically I doll-up a Bride-to-be once before her Big Day for her Grand Preview but it is always a sweet treat to doll-up a Bride-to-be for another special occasion before she says “I do”!

I was SO happy to doll-up Katie 3 times {she booked the popular “All Dolled Up” Package}! For her Engagement Shoot, Boudoir Shoot and Wedding Day, she had me there to powder, blush and gloss her with just the right touch of this-and-that to make her look and feel flawlessly breathtaking.  Katie is absolutely as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside and by the time her Big Day came, dolling her up was relaxed, fast and flawless.  As an Artist, it’s nice going into a Wedding Day knowing EXACTLY what my client wants and having had a couple practice sessions to get familiar with my canvas before her Big Dy!

I had the honor of dolling up runway models for a moonlit rooftop catwalk to benefit Dress For Success San Diego {an AWESOME organization that provides low income women the skills, support and wardrobes necessary to build careers and provide for their families}.  Couture Events coordinated the fantastic show and I was thrilled with the inspiration for the models’ look: dramatic cat eyes, natural-contoured skin and glossy nude lips. yaya baby!

Heather came to me for her Graduation Shoot {CONGRATS, Heather!!!} with the amazing Erica of Acres of Hope Photography so we decided to create a polished “I’m all Grown Up Now” look that didn’t look overly made-up.  Because Airbrush Makeup leaves a dreamy natural finish, we went with glowing Airbrush foundation and I created soft framed eyes with gorgeous highlights and long lashes finished with a glossy pout.
